METEOR SCATTER OPERATION SEASON FAST APPROACHING!

The time of year is again approaching fast for GOOD meteor scatter communications ,the Perseids Meteor Shower, should PEAK about the 18th of August 2009.

Time to break out your computer operated radio, and load up WSJT (or other Meteor scatter programs, multipsk has jt65a (same as wsjt) as part of the MANY operation modes available in it).

Try it it can be fun as contacts run just over a few seconds up to a minute depending on the length of the ionization trail left by a meteroid as it enters the atmosphere of the planet.

Over the past years during HIGH meteor activity I have mad a few (emphasis on few) contacts in 6 meter, meteor scatter mode, the longest being in Alaska.

Try a NEW mode!!!

Try something new, HAM radio should continue to be an experiment for all, and making NEW modes work and working as many modes as possible have been my plan since getting my ticket.

You will probably NOT see me on jt65a/b/or c this year as I donot have a radio really capable of it (must save up some more cash and or sell some stuff and make room for it, as well as the $$$)

Here are some sites with more information about both Meteor Scatter and program links
