In my Continuing Effort to get the club operating and have everything in place by the end of 2007, Here is a preamble to use for the thursday night net It includes sheets to track checkins and announcements, emergencies and etc REVISED 10/20/07 (got rid of some of the repetition!) y'all gotta warn me when I get too wordy! Phelps County Amateur Radio Technical Society Thursday Night Net Preamble.AT 8:00 pm Begin net with the following announcement:Good evening, this is [Call Sign] and my name is [name], your net control for this evening. Welcome to the Phelps County Amateur Radio Technical Society Thursday evening net. The Phelps County Amateur Radio Technical Society is associated with NO major amateur radio associations at this time. This net meets every Thursday evening at 8:00 pm on the Phelps county amateur radio technical society’s repeaters 145.110 negative offset, and 443.425 posivite offset, as well as a simplex link at 145.110. This is an open net and all are welcome to join, we take checkins in 3 groups, Portable, Mobile, and FIXED stations. Please keep in mind that if you have emergency traffic, you may break into the net at any time using your call sign. Are there any Emergencies at this time? (Take the emergency traffic if any, or if none heard go to the meeting announcement) Every Net Meeting Announcement:The Phelps County Amateur Radio Technical Society meets in person on the second Thursday of the month CURRENTLY at our Club house 2100a N. Bishop Ave Rolla Mo at 7:00pm. The next meeting will be the [DATE] at the clubhouse. Every Net Service Announcement:The purpose of our club is to provide support for community activities in the general vicinity and to provide radio communications during times of emergency in the Phelps County / Central Missouri area.In the event of an actual emergency, members are requested to monitor our repeaters for Emergency information and where to report to support the local authorities. To support of these activities we conduct this net each week to sharpen our skills for emergency communications, to get to know other HAMS in the local area, and to enhance our general knowledge of amateur radio. Technical Announcement:The Phelps County Amateur Radio Technical Society Repeaters are located at 2100a N Bishop ave, Rolla Missouri, and operate 24/7, with a battery backup system to maintain the operation during times of emergency and power blackouts.Discussion of technical items of interest to Amateur Radio is welcome on this net, If I do not know the answer someone else on the net may. Solicited Announcements:Again this is [NAME], [CALL SIGN], your net control for tonight. I will now call for any general announcements for the net this evening. Please call now. Hearing none or after announcements:I will now take portable station check-ins for tonight’s net. Portable stations please call now. I will now take Mobile station check-ins for tonight’s net.
